Andrew Scott Frost

A Biography of Andy Frost

Andy was born in Binghamton and raised in Kirkwood, New York, and attended the Windsor Central High School system. At an early age, Andy was influenced musically by his father Edwin Le(Roy) Frost. "Dad could play just about anything."

In 5th grade Roy and Sybil (Mom) bought Andy and Elaine a guitar and some music books, and in very little time Andy took over the guitar and showed a keen interest in learning. Throughout high school as he improved he ventured out and gave a shot at public performing, which included performance of original tunes.

In High school Andy formed, with the help of his friend, a little band called "The Knights of Sound" which gave him a little background in "Rock" but mostly his interests centered around acoustic music.

In his senior year Andy decided to go to college, with much encouragement from his biggest Fan (Mom). He attended college at Oswego State in Upstate NY, with much help from Walter Freimanis who was instrumental in getting Andy into that school. In 1982 Andy graduated with a Bachelors degree in music.

After graduating Andy hung around Binghamton for a while as a self employed musician. After moving to Florida Andy had to pursue other avenues of employment and sort of fell away from the music.

In 2000 there was a sudden interest in music and recording so Andy created "Cold Cut Recordings" and has been composing and recording ever since.

As you listen to Andy's music you will hear the early influences of Jim Croce, James Taylor and other various artists of the 70's.

Andy says: "This is by no means a professional venture, it is strictly for my enjoyment and the hopes that others will find some enjoyment in what they are hearing."
